He will sign with the New Orleans based school in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) spring signing period that starts on April 14.

Utica – The Hinds Community College women’s basketball team welcomed Jones County Junior College to Utica on Monday night and hoped to pick up a crucial South division win in the process. However, it was the visiting Lady Bobcats who came out on top, beating Hinds, 74-66.

MoungerWesley Mounger of Clinton, a sophomore wide receiver/quarterback, won the Most Outstanding Offensive Player Award for the South team in the 2009 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star football game.

The Hinds Community College men’s basketball team remains on fire, as the Bulldogs have won eight in a row after dropping the season opener. Hinds moved to 8-1 on the strength of victories over Miss. Gulf Coast Community College, Delgado Community College (La.) and Meridian Community College.

The Lady Bulldogs basketball team picked up a much-needed victory on Thursday night in Utica, as Hinds defeated Miss. Gulf Coast Community College, 81-79. The win moved the Lady Bulldogs to 2-7 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs of Hinds are still searching for that much needed second victory, but the past week has not been kind to them. Hinds fell to the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans, 79-52, on Thursday evening in Utica, while also dropping a game to Delgado Community College (La.), 63-52, on Monday night.

Nikita Lisov and Misha Pecherkin, both Hinds freshman tennis players of Russia, recently won the doubles competition in the Southern Regional held in Hattiesburg, Miss. The pair defeated the number one rated and undefeated Meridian Community College doubles team in the finals.

On Wednesday evening, the Hinds Community College Eagles and Holmes Community College Bulldogs squared off in a North division matchup, with the Eagles of Hinds coming away with the 3-1 victory. The game was held at Madison Central High School due to harsh weather conditions in the Metro area.

Mike Grzanich, head softball coach at Hinds Community College, has released his 2010 spring schedule. The schedule consists of 22 playing dates, with doubleheaders each date, for a total of 44 games.
