Hinds to host fall instructional baseball league
08/14/09

The Hinds Community College baseball program will be hosting its first annual fall instructional baseball league. The camp will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. in a four-week session lasting from Monday, Sept. 28-Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The four-week session will be open to baseball players in grades 8-11.

Instructors for the camp are Dan Rives and Bradley Lum, assistant baseball coaches at Hinds. Hinds head coach Sam Temple will also serve as an instructor for the camp.

The first week will strictly be instruction-based. The instruction will consist of offensive and defensive instruction. The next three weeks will consist of live game action, as campers will be broken down into teams to compete against each other. Instruction will also be given during game action.

The cost of the camp is $200 for the entire four-week session, and registration is limited to the first 60 applicants. Checks need to be made payable to HCC Baseball Camp. Please send a completed brochure along with the check.
