The Hinds football team traveled to Poplarville on Thursday night looking for its second consecutive victory, but left on a sour note, falling to Pearl River Community College, 45-3.
Rashod Henry of Pearl River finished with two touchdowns on 13 carries to lead the Wildcats (4-0). The majority of his rushing yards came on a 79-yard jaunt early in the fourth quarter.
Jared Thames of Vicksburg, a freshman kicker, would provide all of the scoring for the Eagles, booting a 30-yard field goal with 13:28 in the second quarter.
The Wildcats led 17-3 at the half before turning their offense into a higher gear in the second half and extending the lead even further.
Hinds will hit the road again next Thursday night, traveling to Ellisville to face Jones County Junior College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
