Wesley Mounger of Clinton, a sophomore wide receiver/quarterback, won the Most Outstanding Offensive Player Award for the South team in the 2009 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star football game.

The game was played on Saturday afternoon at Northeast Community College in Booneville.

Mounger won the award due in large part to his 40-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of the contest, one in which the South team won going away, 28-0. The touchdown pass was thrown by Stanley Jennings, a quarterback from Southwest Community College.

Mounger was joined in the game by six other Hinds teammates, including Demetrius Bryant of Jackson, Bobby McGowan of Utica, Mark Weathersby of Magee, Chance Starkweather of Richland, Dishon Robertson of Brownsville, Tenn., and Cordarrell Smith of Jackson.

Mounger was the Eagles most versatile player as a sophomore. He hauled in 17 catches for 253 yards and one touchdown as a receiver, while also throwing for 485 yards and four touchdowns as the Eagles backup quarterback.
