Ernie Rogers of Florence has been named the Hinds Community College head golf coach. He replaces Anthony Price, who is still the head golf professional at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Raymond.

Rogers, who is the assistant golf professional at Eagle Ridge, received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing/Professional Golf Management from Mississippi State University in 2002.

Rogers has a vast amount of professional experience, as he served as the assistant golf professional at Tournament Players Clubs (TPC) Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., TPC Michigan and TPC Las Vegas.

Although Rogers is in his first season as a coach, he feels that the Eagles can be successful on the links. “I think that we have a chance to win some tournaments because we have some of our top players returning from last year,” Rogers said.
