Nationally ranked Bulldogs continue winning ways

UTICA — The nationally ranked men’s basketball team at Hinds continued to roll on Monday night, defeating the Meridian Community College Eagles, 85-78.

The Bulldogs, who are ranked 21st in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll, moved their overall record to 12-1 on the season.

The home game was the first contest of the new year due to the cancellation of the Holmes Community College games on January 7. The game with Holmes will be rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. in Goodman.

Chris Wallace (22 points) and Mark Wilkerson (17 points), both sophomore guards of Jackson, led Hinds on the offensive side of the ball on Monday evening.

JaCorey Wright of Raymond, a sophomore guard, poured in 15 points as well for Hinds.

Hinds will hit the hardwood again on Thursday evening, as the Bulldogs will head to Decatur to face East Central Community College. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
