Men’s basketball splits pair of division games
01/26/10

The Hinds Bulldogs have gone through a grueling stretch of games recently, with the latest being two South division games and a cancellation of a non-division game.

The latest contest pitted the Bulldogs against South division foe Southwest Community College on Monday night, and the Bulldogs came away with an 84-73 home victory. The win improved the Bulldogs overall record to 15-3 overall and 5-1 in the South division.

Hinds was set to play a make-up game with Holmes Community College on Saturday, Jan. 23, but the non-division game was canceled. The original game date was set for January 7, but was postponed due to wintry conditions in the Metro area.

Hinds saw its unbeaten streak in divisional play come to an end on Thursday, Jan. 21, when the Bulldogs dropped a 66-65 affair with Co-Lin Community College on the road. Chris Wallace of Jackson, a sophomore guard/forward, had a huge night, as he finished with 25 points.

Hinds will have another crucial South division game on Thursday night, as the Bulldogs travel to Perkinston to play Miss. Gulf Coast Community College in an 8 p.m. matchup. Hinds defeated Gulf Coast, 88-78, in the first division game for both teams in December.
