The Hinds men’s basketball team squeaked past Holmes Community College, 84-83, on Thursday evening in the 2009-2010 home opener for the Bulldogs.

Hinds (1-1) dropped the season opener, 68-58, to Miss. Delta Community College on Tuesday night in Moorhead.

Hinds had three scorers in double digits on Thursday night, led by Erik Burks of Edwards, who finished with 15 points.

Kenny Mullin of Oxford (14 points) and Ananza Richardson (13 points) also led the way for the Bulldogs, who led Holmes 46-38 at halftime.

The Bulldogs of Hinds will return to the court on Monday night, traveling to Scooba to face East Miss. Community College in an 8 p.m. tipoff.
