UTICA - The Hinds Community College men’s basketball team won its 10th game in a row on Thursday evening in Utica, defeating Baton Rouge Community College, 83-74.

Hinds is now 10-1 on the season after dropping the 2009-2010 season opener to Mississippi Delta Community College. The Bulldogs also defeated Pearl River Community College, 85-81 in overtime, on Monday night in Poplarville.

Mark Wilkerson of Jackson, a sophomore guard, poured in 29 points to lead Hinds in Thursday’s contest, one in which the Bulldogs trailed 39-31 at halftime.

Chris Wallace of Jackson, a sophomore guard, had 17 points to help lead the Bulldogs.

In Monday’s overtime affair against Pearl River, Wallace led all scorers with 27 points on the strength of six three-pointers. Wilkerson also pumped in 19 points as well.  

Hinds will return to action on Monday night, as the Bulldogs welcome Coahoma Community College to Utica for an 8 p.m. tipoff. This will be Hinds’ final game before the Christmas break.
