The Hinds Eagles evened their record at 1-1 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Pearl River on Tuesday night in Raymond. The home opener for the Eagles was also the first conference game as well.

Tucker Hood of Brandon got the first score on the game 10 minutes into the first half on a shot from outside of the penalty area.

Later in the first half, Blanks Baldwin of Pearl and Corey Lange of Brandon both scored goals with assists coming from Dillon Walker of Pearl and Marcelo Lima of Fortaleza, Brazil respectively.

Hinds continued to pressure Pearl River during the second half, scoring two more goals to put the game out of reach. The two goals came from James Hoye of Canton and Adam Johnson of Huddersfield, England.

“I think the guys played well tonight, as we are starting to settle into our game plan and play to our strengths,” said Hinds coach Doug Williams.” Pearl River has a good team and they pressured us the entire game. I am proud of the way the defense handled that pressure,” said Williams.
