The Hinds men’s soccer team traveled to Scooba on Tuesday to take on East Miss. Community College and came away with a big division win, beating the Lions, 4-1.
Rain in the area made for sloppy conditions early, causing the Eagles to miss out on numerous scoring chances.
JC Pierce (Clinton) scored the first goal for Hinds on a corner kick from Marcelo Lima (Fortaleza, Brazil).
East Miss. would later tie things up at one apiece on a well-hit shot from just outside of the penalty area, making it a 1-1 game heading into the break.
In the second half, Dillon Walker (Pearl) led the attack by scoring two goals, and Lima knocked in the additional goal for Hinds.
The men will now take on Holmes Community College in another important division matchup on Friday. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Tom Shepherd Field in Raymond.
