UTICA — The Hinds Community College women’s basketball team got of the 2010 portion of their season off on the right foot Monday night, as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Meridian Community College, 74-69.

The home game was the first contest of the new year due to the cancellation of the Holmes Community College games on January 7. The game with Holmes will be rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. in Goodman.

Lashondra Dunson of Jackson, a freshman guard, had a big night on Monday, as she poured in 19 points to lead the charge.

Kenosha Graham, also a freshman guard of Jackson, had a big offensive night as well, collecting a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs (4-9) return to action on Thursday, traveling to Decatur for a 6 p.m. tipoff with East Central Community College.
