Lady 'Dogs splits pair of division games
02/02/2010

The Lady Bulldogs basketball team was able to pick up a critical South division victory on Monday night, defeating the Pearl River Community College Wildcats, 63-55. The home victory improved the Lady Bulldogs overall record to 6-14 and 2-6 in the South division.

Kiana McCarty of Brandon, a sophomore center, and Kenosha Graham of Jackson, a freshman guard, tied for the scoring lead on Monday night, as both athletes finished with 15 points on the night.

The Monday night win was a big turnaround from the Lady Bulldogs previous game, one in which the Lady Bulldogs were beaten, 81-37, by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Lashondra Dunson of Jackson, a freshman guard, was the only double digit scorer for Hinds, as she led the team with 11 points.

The Lady Bulldogs will now have a full week off before returning to game action on Monday, Feb. 8, when Hinds welcomes East Central Community College to town for a 6 p.m. game. Hinds lost the first matchup with the Lady Warriors Warriors, 63-58, on January 14 in Decatur.
