The Lady Bulldogs basketball team picked up a much-needed victory on Thursday night in Utica, as Hinds defeated Miss. Gulf Coast Community College, 81-79. The win moved the Lady Bulldogs to 2-7 on the season.
Lilly Porter of Port Gibson, a freshman guard, led all Lady Bulldogs in scoring on Thursday night, dropping in 15 points to lead her teammates in scoring.
On Monday night, the Lady Bulldogs lost a tough one to Delgado Community College in New Orleans, La., falling by the score of 45-39. Porter led Hinds with 11 points.
On Monday, Nov. 23, Hinds traveled down I-20 to take on Meridian Community College, and the Lady Bulldogs were looking for a non-conference victory. However, it was the home standing Eagles of Meridian who came away with a victory, defeating Hinds, 95-74.
Krystal Johnson of Jackson, a sophomore center, led the way for Hinds with 16 points.
Hinds will now travel to Pearl River Community College on Monday night for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
