UTICA - The women’s basketball team at Hinds Community College had a tough go of things this week, dropping two games to move to 2-9 on the year.

Hinds lost to Baton Rouge Community College, 87-60, on Thursday night in Utica. The Lady Bulldogs also fell to Pearl River Community College, 77-65, on Monday night on the road.

Kenosha Graham of Jackson, a freshman guard, led Hinds in the scoring department on Thursday, as she finished with 18 points on the night.

In Monday’s contest against Pearl River, it was Krystal Johnson who had the big night for Hinds. The sophomore center from Jackson was a force, as she scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace Hinds.

Kiana McCarty of Brandon, a sophomore center, had a big night as well, scoring 13 points, grabbing 10 boards and blocking five shots, but it was not enough for the Lady Bulldogs.

Hinds will hit the hardwood again on Monday night, as the Bulldogs welcome Coahoma Community College to Utica for a 6 p.m. tipoff. This will be the Lady Bullodgs final game before the Christmas break.
