MERIDIAN, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Soccer team grabbed their second conference win on Tuesday as they took down Meridian on the road. The Eagles improve to 5-1-3 overall and 2-0-2 in MACCC play.
Ridchy Honore scored the first goal for Hinds from a cross in the box from
Ryan McQueen in the 9
th minute of the contest. The Eagles continued to score goals as João Pereira found the back of the net in the 35
th minute. Just before the halftime break, Meridian scored their first goal of the match to make the score 2-1 after 45 minutes of play.
15 minutes into the second half,
Josh Forsman scored his second goal of the season to give Hinds the 3-1 advantage. He was assisted by
Jedin Lee, which was his first assist on the season. Meridian scored another goal in the 73
rd minute to make the score 3-2, but
Jedin Lee found the back of the net late in the match to give the Hinds the 4-2 victory over Meridian.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday, September 29 against Northwest Mississippi Community College in the friendly confines of Tom Shepherd Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
