RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Women's Soccer team picked up their first conference win on the season with a 2-1 win over East Mississippi CC on Tuesday. 

The Lions found the back of the net first midway through the first half to take the early 1-0 lead. The Lady Eagles quickly responded as Rubi Garcia scored on a Penalty Kick to level the contest at 1-1. The score remained tied going into the halftime break. 

The Lady Eagles started fast coming out of the halftime break when they scored to take the 2-1 advantage. The Lady Eagles' defense held strong as they walked away with the 2-1 win and the first conference victory of the season.

Rubi Garcia was the leading goal scorer for the Lady Eagles scoring one goal, while Ana Camila Hernandez Lopez played the full 90 minutes in goal. Additionally, she totaled four saves and only allowed one goal.

Hinds will return to action on Friday, September 27 when they travel to Jones College in Ellisville to take on the Lady Bobcats. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM.
