RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Softball team picked up a conference sweep on Saturday afternoon, defeating Mississippi Delta Community College 9-5 in game one before closing out the day with a 3-1 victory in game two at Rene T. Warren Field.

GAME ONE
Hinds jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in the opener, using a strong offensive performance to secure a 9-5 win.

The Lady Eagles plated five runs in the first inning to take control of the game early. Hinds continued to apply pressure at the plate, adding another run in the second and three more in the fourth to take the 9-2 lead. Hinds went on to grab the game one victory by a final of 9-5.

Hinds Softball finished with 12 hits in the contest. Emma Hudson led the way with a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Alyx Hall added a strong performance, finishing 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI while also scoring a run.

Abigail McLean contributed offensively as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Jalia McDaniel crossed the plate twice and stole a base, while Adyson McKnight drove in a run. Lekeitha Sampson added a double and an RBI to round out the Lady Eagles' offensive production.

In the circle, Laicie Bridges earned the win, tossing a complete game. She allowed five runs on nine hits while striking out two and walking four across seven innings of work.

GAME TWO
The Lady Eagles leaned on dominant pitching in the nightcap to secure the sweep with a 3-1 victory.

Hinds struck first in the opening inning before breaking a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fourth to take the lead for good.

The Lady Eagles recorded three hits in the game, highlighted by doubles from Alyx Hall and Emma Hudson. Hudson finished 1-for-2 with a run scored and a walk, while Hall drove in two runs with her double.

Abigail McLean also delivered offensively, going 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI. Lekeitha Sampson added a stolen base as Hinds manufactured runs in a tight contest.

McLean was outstanding in the circle, throwing a complete game to earn the win. She allowed just one run on two hits while striking out 15 batters and walking two across seven innings.

Hinds will return to action on Tuesday, March 31^st against Southwest Mississippi CC in Summit. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 PM.
