RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Softball team turned in a complete performance on Saturday, sweeping Northwest Mississippi Community College with an 11-3 run-rule victory in game one followed by a 3-0 shutout in game two.

Game One
Hinds came out swinging in the opener, erupting for 11 runs on 11 hits to secure the run-rule win in five innings. The Lady Eagles set the tone early with a four-run first inning and never looked back, adding a seven-run fifth to put the game away.

Emma Hudson led the offensive charge with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, driving in four runs. Lakethia Sampson was also dominant at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Abigail McLean added a strong effort, finishing 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Jalia McDaniel crossed the plate twice while adding a hit, and Mackenzie Smith contributed with a hit, two runs scored, and an RBI. Addison Galloway also chipped in with a hit and a run.

In the circle, Jazmin Robertson earned the win, tossing 4.1 innings while allowing three runs on seven hits. Claire Mellard came on in relief to record the final outs and secure the victory.

Game Two
The Lady Eagles completed the sweep with a 3-0 shutout, relying on a dominant pitching performance and timely hitting.

Abigail McLean was outstanding in the circle, throwing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just four hits across seven innings while working around four walks to keep Northwest off the scoreboard.

Offensively, Emma Hudson continued her strong day, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. McLean helped her own cause with a hit and an RBI, while Lakethia Sampson added a hit and a run scored. Shailey Peterson also crossed the plate for the Lady Eagles. 

Hinds will return to action on Wednesday, April 15th against #3 Pearl River CC in Poplarville. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3 PM.
