UPDATE - October 2024
The 10,000 sq ft Multi-Purpose Facility renovation inside Mayo Fieldhouse has officially been completed and is ready for use by Hinds Community College! Thanks to the efforts of Hinds Special Project Department and Mid-South Synthetic Turf, the last pieces of the turf were laid on Friday, October 4. The finishing touches, such as banners and donor plaques, will be added in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more pictures!

UPDATE - January 2024
Hinds Community College Administration has approved the renovation of the old pool area to include pouring concrete, removal of the old ceiling, painting, refurnishing the old garage doors, installing new LED lights, installing a new pipe heating system, and installing new ventilation. This commitment will speed up the project timeline to include everything except indoor artificial turf and wall padding.

This space has approximately 10,000 sq ft of usable area that can be used for anything from organized team activities (practice, drills), classes (HPR, walking, dance), and community events hosted by Hinds Community College. Nearly all MACCC athletic programs across Mississippi have access to an indoor practice facility on their own campus, allowing teams to avoid severe weather and community groups to utilize. If they don't have one currently, they are making plans for one. We need the support from our alumni and community members to make this a reality for our students.

An indoor facility would allow the entire college to utilize an activity space for large events where the college can bring in outside community groups AND get potential students on campus to experience a state-of-the-art facility. Many times each semester, athletic teams are forced inside by the weather and miss out on much-needed practice time. This practice time is valuable because competing MACCC institutions are getting valuable practice time with their indoor facilities.

The images below are conceptual designs courtesy of CDFL in Jackson of what the new indoor facility would look like with your generous support! Naming rights for the indoor facility are always open and welcome! Please call Nathan Werremeyer at 601-857-3330 if you are interested in learning more!
