Kasey Britt has been an assistant coach for the Lady Eagles softball program since 2019. Britt is responsible for coaching the hitters and outfielders.
Britt spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at University of Central Arkansas from 2018-2019. Primarily working with the hitters and outfielders, Britt helped guide the Bears to major offensive improvements in both seasons. As a team, UCA racked up 42 more hits in 2019 than in 2018 and 30 more hits in 2018 than in 2017 prior to her arrival on the staff. Under Britt’s guidance, the Bears increased their production in doubles from 61 in 2017 to 80 in 2018. UCA also improved its overall slugging percentage by almost 90 points in two years.
Prior to UCA, Britt spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Ga. from 2016-2017. She oversaw skill development of the Mountain Lions defensive positions and hitters while also contributing to other aspects of the program including compliance, academics and team camps. During her time at Young Harris, the Mountain Lions posted a 73-54 record and earned its first-ever postseason win in 2016. That same season, Young Harris also set a program record for wins while making an appearance in the NCAA Division-II Southeast Regional Tournament. The Mountain Lions also qualified for that tournament in 2017. Britt coached eight All-Peach Belt Conference selections, three CoSIDA All-District honorees, two Academic All-Americans and one NFCA All-Southeast Region selection.
Prior to her time at Young Harris, Britt spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss from 2014-2015. She helped lead the Blazers to a 75-40 record during that time, including back-to-back NAIA National Tournament appearances. While primarily in charge of skill development for outfield, pitchers and hitters, Britt mentored eight All-Southern States Athletic Conference honorees, seven All-Regions selections, two SSAC Players of the Year, two SSAC Golden Glove winners and one NAIA All-American.
Britt also played at UCA from 2009-2012 and is still known for her outstanding accomplishments. She was a career .320 hitter, posting 178 career hits, 47 doubles, three triples and 24 home runs while driving in 126. She ranks in the top-10 in program history in 21 categories including doubles (2nd, 47), slugging percentage (3rd, .545), on-base percentage (3rd, .413), home runs (4th, 24), RBIs (4th, 126), hits (t-5th, 178), runs scored (7th, 98) and batting average (9th, .320). She was selected as a member of the All-Southland Conference and NFCA All-South Region twice while also being named the SLC Hitter of the Week three times.
Britt is a native of Richland, Miss. and a graduate of UCA with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education. She later received her Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Belhaven.
