ShaRhonda Gipson is the new Hinds Community College Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for the 2021-2022 season. Gipson brings 15 years of coaching experience to the Hinds family.
Gipson, a Gautier native, has coached girls and boys basketball teams at numerous middle and high schools across the state of Mississippi. Most recently, she served as head women's basketball coach at McLaurin High School, in Florence, and head coach for the Natchez High School Lady Bulldogs basketball team.
She was a student-athlete at Hinds from 2000-2002 and played basketball under the renowned Mary Jo Hunter. She continued her playing career at Lincoln University, in Jefferson City, Mo., where she won a variety of athletic recognitions.
Gipson holds an Associate of Arts degree from Hinds in Health/Physical Education, a bachelor's degree in Health/Wellness from Lincoln University, a master's degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Alcorn State University and a Specialist degree from Mississippi College in Educational Leadership.
Gipson is the proud wife of Anthony Gipson and mom of DeAnthony Gipson. She lives by the mantras: "Don't Let the Elements Defeat You" and "With God All Things Are Possible."
