The Hinds Community College Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaker to East Central Community College on Monday, falling 91-86 in double overtime, in Utica.

The tough loss put the Bulldogs at 4-10 overall, but more importantly, at 3-2 in the rugged South division. Hinds had won two consecutive conference contests before Monday night's loss.

Trevis Thomas of Edwards, a sophomore guard, topped all scorers with 25 points versus East Central, but Josh Gaskin of Vicksburg, a freshman forward, was the star of the night for Hinds, totaling 24 points and 13 rebounds.

In a 62-59 win over Pearl River Community College on Jan. 19, it was Carlo McDonald who led the team in points scored. The freshman guard from Florence dropped in 18 points over the Wildcats.

The Bulldogs picked up a crucial road victory on Jan. 16, picking up a 77-66 victory over Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson.  McDonald and Thomas both had 18 points to lead Hinds.

Hinds will step out-of-conference on Thursday night, traveling to Goodman to face Holmes Community College in an 8 p.m. matchup.
