Bulldogs head into final game on fire

The end of the season is always the right time for a team to peak, and the Hinds men's basketball team is doing just that, as the Bulldogs picked up their fourth consecutive South division win on Monday night.

Hinds defeated Co-Lin Community College, 83-70, to improve to 15-7 overall and 6-5 in the South division.

Marcus Hurn (Meridian) had his best game to date on Monday, scoring 25 points, pulling down four rebounds, collecting three assists and two steals.

Dominique Brown (Vicksburg) had a big night versus Co-Lin as well, finishing with 20 points and two assists.

Brown also had a standout performance in a 71-62 victory over Southwest Community College on Valentine's Day. He had 15 points, one rebound, one assist and one steal to lead the Bulldogs to the win.

On Monday, Feb. 11, the Bulldogs welcomed Jones County Junior College to Utica and were victorious, 82-73, over the Bobcats.

Brown finished with 21 points, including a perfect 7-7 on free throws, to pace Hinds.

Matthew Hurn (Meridian) had 17 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in the win.

Hinds will now travel to Perkinston on Thursday night for the finale of the 2012-2013 season, taking on rival Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
