Bulldogs drop heartbreaker to Delgado on Monday evening

The Delgado (La.) Community College Dolphins hit a three-pointer with less than 10 seconds remaining to break a 66-66 tie and propel them to an eventual 69-66 victory over Hinds Community College in Utica on Monday night.

Kourey Davis (Vicksburg) was a force last night versus Delgado, as the freshman guard/forward ended the evening with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Kaleb Williams (Edwards) and Clayton Tate (Terry) had solid nights offensively as well against Delgado, ending their nights with 14 points and 10 points, respectively.

Hinds (1-2) hit the road for the first time last Thursday night and were able to come away with their first victory of the season, a 72-67 win at Coahoma Community College.

The Bulldogs had four double digit scorers in the five-point victory, led by Edward Walker (Clinton), who had 18 points, as well as pulling down 11 rebounds.

LaDarrius Drain (Yazoo City) had a double-double as well, scoring 15 points and grabbing a team-leading 12 rebounds. Williams (14 points) and Davis (11 points) were vital scoring contributors as well.

The Bulldogs lifted the lid on the 2014-2015 campaign on Monday, Nov. 3, hosting Mississippi Delta Community College in what amounted to a 71-58 loss.

Victor Price (Florence) had 15 points to lead the charge, while Walker poured in 13 points and seven rebounds to help pace the Bulldogs offense.

Hinds now travels to Senatobia and the campus of Northwest Community College on Thursday night. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
