The Hinds Community College men's basketball team dropped a 57-46 decision at Southwest Community College, but it does not diminish the fact that the Bulldogs head into the Christmas break winning four of their last five games.

Edward Walker (Clinton) led the way on Monday versus the Bears, leading Hinds in scoring (14 points) and rebounds (eight). He was 6-7 in field goals and 2-3 from the free throw line in a highly efficient evening.

Hinds (5-4 overall and 1-1 in the South) opened South division play on Thursday, Dec. 4 at home and came away with a crucial 70-51 win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

LaDarrius Drain (Yazoo City) led all scorers against the Wolves, pouring in 20 points, as well as grabbing four rebounds and dishing out two assists.

Kourey Davis (Vicksburg) and Walker each finished in double digits in the convincing victory over Co-Lin, as the duo finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs also grabbed an 86-81 victory in New Orleans, La., over Delgado Community College on Monday, Nov. 24.

Davis had 25 points, four rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot and one steal versus the Dolphins to earn Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week honors.

Drain (16 points), Kaleb Williams (Edwards, 15 points) and Jontavius Thomas (Meridian, 12 points) each finished the victory in double digits.

Hinds will host Holmes Community College on Tuesday, Jan. 6, as the two teams return to action after the extended Christmas break.
