Men's basketball defeats Coahoma on Thursday

The Hinds Community College Bulldogs earned a hard fought 65-54 victory over Coahoma Community College in Utica on Thursday night to move to 6-5 on the season.

LaDarrius Drain (Yazoo City) led Hinds offensively in Thursday night's victory, as he went for 15 points, including 4-5 from three-point range. He also grabbed a team leading nine rebounds and dished out four assists.

DeAndre Bolton (Bolton) had a solid game down low versus the Tigers, scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds, and Kaleb Williams (Edwards) did a nice job at the guard position, finishing with 13 points and four assists.

The Bulldogs played their first game back from the Christmas break on Tuesday night in Utica, but the home standing Bulldogs were defeated by Holmes Community College, 73-63.

Clayton Tate (Terry) led the Bulldogs offensively with 16 points, and Edward Walker (Clinton) had a double-double, ending the evening with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Drain also finished in double digits with 12 points of his own.

Hinds will return to South division play on Monday, traveling to Poplarville to face Pearl River Community College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
