Bulldogs fall to Delgado on Monday

The Hinds Community College men's basketball team fell to the Delgado (La.) Community College Dolphins, 74-63, in Utica on Monday night to drop to 1-2 on the young season.

Trojuan White (Hazlehurst) led the way offensively for the Bulldogs versus Delgado, scoring 19 points and pulling down four rebounds.

Ryyale Brown (Fayette) had 13 points and six rebounds and Bobby Powell (Jackson) pitched in with 11 points.

The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season on Thursday, Nov. 5, defeating Coahoma Community College in a 79-78 thriller.

Powell had a huge night, scoring 23 points and dishing out three assists and finishing with two steals.

Corey McLaurin (Florence) had a big night as well, finishing with 22 points and six assists, as well as collecting two steals.

White had 18 points and six rebounds in the win, and David Robinson (Vicksburg) had 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs lifted the lid on the 2015-2016 campaign on Monday, Nov. 2, traveling to Mississippi Delta Community College in what amounted to a 62-50 loss.

White led all scorers with 16 points, as well as grabbing eight boards.

Hinds will welcome Northwest Community College to Utica on Thursday night. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at J.D. Boyd Gymnasium.
