Men's basketball wraps up regular season next week

The Hinds Community College men's basketball program will put a wrap on the 2014-2015 regular season next week, as the Bulldogs play one road contest on Monday and the finale at home on Thursday night in Utica.

Hinds dropped a 78-59 decision to East Central Community College in Decatur on Thursday night in the penultimate road contest of the season.

Kourey Davis (Vicksburg) led all Bulldog scorers with 16 points in the South division loss to East Central last night.

Clayton Tate (Terry) chipped in with 13 points versus the Warriors of EC.

The Bulldogs did pick up a crucial South division victory at Meridian Community College on Monday night, defeating the Eagles, 73-56.

Davis had an impressive stat line in the win, scoring 15 points, pulling down nine rebounds, dishing out six assists, blocking two shots and grabbing one steal.

LaDarrius Drain (Yazoo City) had 14 points and seven rebounds and Edward Walker (Clinton) had a double-double, scoring 12 rebounds and finishing with 11 rebounds.

Corey McLaurin (Florence) and Tate each finished with 11 points in the victory.

Hinds heads to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Monday night before returning home to Utica for the season capper against Jones County Junior College on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at J.D. Boyd Gym.
