Men's basketball falls to Pearl River on Monday

The Hinds Community College men's basketball program fell to South division rival Pearl River Community College, 81-65, on Monday night in Utica.

Hinds is now 4-8 overall and 1-2 in the South with the loss.

David Robinson (Vicksburg) led all Hinds scorers on Monday night with 18 points.

Trojuan White (Hazlehurst) and Bobby Powell (Jackson) each chipped in with 16 points versus Pearl River, and White completed his big night with a double-double after collecting 11 rebounds.

Hinds also dropped a non-conference game on Thursday, Jan. 7, as the Bulldogs were defeated 79-71 at the hands of Holmes Community College.

White had another big night, scoring 21 points and collecting two rebounds and a blocked shot.

Powell had 14 points and Corey McLaurin (Florence) had 13 points and five rebounds.

Hinds returns to action on Thursday, traveling to Meridian Community College for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
