Men's basketball hosts East Central on Thursday

The Hinds Community College men's basketball team hosts East Central Community College at 7:30 p.m. tonight at J.D. Boyd Gym in Utica in the penultimate home game of the 2015-2016 season.

The Bulldogs of Hinds are coming off a 76-64 victory over Meridian Community College on Monday night, which moved the team's overall record to 7-13 and 4-7 in the South division.

Trojuan White (Hazlehurst) was once again the go-to guy for the Bulldogs in the win, as he scored 25 points on 9-15 shooting, including 5-9 from behind the arc. He also grabbed six rebounds and stole a pass.

Corey McLaurin (Florence) had 16 points and DeAndre King added 11 points to aid the Bulldogs in the victory.

The Bulldogs traveled to Pearl River Community College on Thursday, Feb. 4 looking for their third consecutive victory, but it was not meant to be, as the Wildcats of PRCC won going away, 87-61.

Bobby Powell (Jackson) had 14 points to lead all Hinds scorers, while McLaurin added 11 points of his own.
