PITTSBURG, KANSAS – The Hinds Community College men's and women's Track and Field teams are set to compete this Friday and Saturday at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Championships.

Reginald Dillon, the Eagles have become mainstays as one of the premier track and field programs in the nation. "We are excited and will be ready to compete the Hinds way," remarked Dillon.
The Lady Eagles Track and Field team will compete in the 60 Meter Hurdles, 400 Meter Dash, and 4 x 400 Meter Relay.
Trishauna Hemmings (Kingston, Jamaica) will compete in the 60 Meter Hurdles. According to the Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS), Hemmings ranks fourth in the NJCAA with a time of 8.69 seconds which she posted at the LSU Twilight meet.
Jamaya Rand (Pearl) and
Kimorla Mushette (Edwin Allen HS) will be competing in the 400 Meter Dash. Both women will look to make the finals and place in this event. Mushette's best time in the 400 meter is 58.12 seconds which currently ranks No. 15 in the NJCAA, while Rand's best time is 58.69 seconds currently ranking No. 20 in the NJCAA.

D'Ajah Miley, and
Maresha Chandler will compete in the 4 x 400 Meter Relay. Currently, these ladies are ranked fourth in the NJCAA with their time of 3:54.54 minutes. They will have a chance to compete for the National Title after knocking off twenty seconds from their time from the beginning of the indoor season.
The Men's Track and Field team will compete in the 60 Meter Dash, 60 Meter Hurdles, 200 Meter Dash, 400 Meter Dash, 4 x 400 Meter Relay, and the High Jump.
Diamante Griffin (Forest Hill HS) will compete in the 60 Meter Dash and look to beat his NJCAA No. 12 ranked time of 6.80 seconds.
Al-Tariq Dunson (East Orange HS) will compete in the 60 Meter Hurdles. His time of 8.14 seconds is currently ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA.
Khance Meyers (East Kentwood HS) and Griffin will compete in the heavily contested 200 Meter Dash. Meyers won and set the National record last year in this event. Both Meyers and Griffin will look to keep the 200 Meter National Championship at Hinds.
Zacharey Goodman (Greenville) will compete in the 400 Meter Dash and has a chance to place well given his previous times and improvements made in his two years at Hinds.
Corvell Todd (Byhalia) will look to compete for the National Title in the men's High Jump. Todd's jump of 2.10 meters ranks third in the NJCAA.
Hinds men's 4 x 400 relay team will look to compete for a championship as well as their best time of 3:14.92 minutes ranks sixth in the NJCAA.
"I am pleased with the way we have trusted the process. We have a good group of freshman who have and will have to continue to step it up along with some sophomores who will have to make it happen."
The NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Prentice Gudgen Complex in Pittsburg, Kansas March 1-2.
