Bulldogs edge Coahoma 54-51 on the road

Box Score CLARKSDALE - The Hinds Community College men's basketball team grabbed their second road win of the 2021-2022 season after beating Coahoma 54-51 on the road in Clarksdale Thursday evening.

"It was a very tough road win at Coahoma," head coach Jonathan Nevol said. "We still are not where we want to be offensively. We got dows 12 early in the first half, but we fought back. The second half was very tight throughout and we made winning plays at the end to seal the game. I'm most proud of our defense. We've got to keep our focus on being a good defensive team, and our offense will be fine."

Leading the charge in points for the Bulldogs was Jalen Myers (Madison, Ala.) with 14 points. Myers also cashed in his third double double of the season by recording 11 rebounds in the contest. Sophomore guard Kyle Hayman (Monroe, La.) had another productive evening for the Bulldogs, scoring 10 points and grabbing eight boards. Freshman guard Jamaal Esco (Jackson) also recorded nine points, while grabbing four rebounds and two assists.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Monday when they travel to Summit to take on Baton Rouge Community College in the Coca-Cola Classis. The game is set to tip-off at 3 p.m.
