RAYMOND – Two Hinds Community College football players Ben Duncan (Florence) and Jaylan Ware (Starkville) received more postseason honors when they were named All-Region 23 for their performances on the gridiron in 2022.
 
The Eagles finished the 2022 season with a 4-5 overall record and a 3-3 record in conference play.
 
Prior to this announcement, both Duncan and Ware, along with 12 other Eagles were named All-Conference by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
 
Duncan, a specialist from Florence, was named First-Team All-Conference as a punter and honorable mention as a kicker. As a punter, Duncan punted 54 times for 2,055 yards and averaged 38.06 per kick. His longest punt came against Pearl River Community College where he hit a booming 71-yard kick. Duncan also spent time as a field goal kicker and nailed five of his seven attempts with a longest of 43 yards.
 
Ware, a defensive lineman from Starkville, was the anchor to the Eagle defensive line that shut opposing rushing attacks down. He racked up 37 total tackles during the season. Ware also had 11 tackles for loss for 49 yards and four sacks for 19 yards. He also recorded a fumble recovery during the season.
