12/6/2022 1:00:00 PM

Box Score UTICA, MS – Hinds Community College men's basketball lost a hard-fought battle to East Mississippi Community College 84-74 Monday evening.

This contest proved to be abnormal for the Bulldogs with only one three-point basket being made from the 13 attempted. Hinds also shot 40% from the field and 78% from the stripe. East Mississippi had similar percentages on the evening but led in the rebound department with 43 rebounds. 31 of those rebounds came on the defensive end.

"East Mississippi played hard defense and executed the hard plays they needed to win this game, so I was impressed," head coach Jonathan Nevol said. "We fought hard and did some great things, but our execution could have been better. East (MS) showed up last night and it was a good game."

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Patrick McCraney (Monroe, LA), who finished his night with 24 points. Rylen Walker (Baton Rouge, LA) and Malachi Martin (Clinton) also found double digits. Walker ended the night with 14 points and Martin scored 13. Edarious Williams (Coffeeville) found double digits also with his 10-point performance. Williams also pulled down nine boards in the contest.
