RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Soccer team picked up a 2-1 conference win on Thursday evening at Tom Shepherd Field. With the win, the Eagles improve to 6-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in MACCC South play.
Tony King netted a chip ship over the keeper's head to the give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage in the 15
th minute of play. The visitors scored a goal of their own before the break as the score was knotted up at 1 halftime.
Both defenses played extremely well the next 45 minutes of play, but
Ridchy Honore scored the go-ahead goal with 13:50 remaining in the contest. East Central had a couple of opportunities to score late in the match, but the Eagles' defense held strong as Hinds took the 2-1 victory over East Central.
João Pereira assisted on both goals, while
Younes Ezzaim played all 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles and tallied seven saves.
The Eagles will return to the pitch on Saturday, October 7 against Southwest Community College in Summit. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM
