UTICA, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team reached the century mark for the first time this season as they took down SUSLA 103-84 on Thursday evening inside J. D Boyd Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs and Jags were tight for the majority of the first half as the Bulldogs held the six-point advantage going into the halftime break. Hinds came out of the halftime break firing on all cylinders as they outscored the Jags 56-43 in the final half of the game to seal the 103-84 victory in non-conference play.
Three Bulldogs scored 20+ points in the contest.
Elijah Kennedy and
Edarious Williams led all scorers with 22 points apiece. Williams scored his sixth double-double on the season, shot 52.9% from the field, and went 3-for-3 from behind the arc.
Jakobe Singleton finished the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while
Joseph Dupree finished the contest with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was
Joshua Lemon (9 points),
Nate Pruitt (6 points),
Maxwell Armstrong (4 points), and
Isaiah Davis (2 points).
The Bulldogs will return to the hardwood on Saturday, December 9th against Baton Rouge CC inside J.D Boyd Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
