Hinds Men’s Basketball Closes 2025 with 88–85 Win Over MGCCC

UTICA, Miss. - The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team earned an 88–85 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Friday inside JD Boyd Gymnasium on the Utica Campus. Win the win, Hinds improves to 8-6 overall.

Mississippi Gulf Coast kept the game tight from start to finish behind the play of Dauran Parish, who led the Bulldogs with 24 points, nine assists, and three steals while playing all 40 minutes. Maddox Noblitt added 16 points and filled the stat sheet with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Za'Kariya Hamilton recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while King George contributed 10 points as Gulf Coast shot 49.2 percent from the field.

The Hinds Bulldogs were led by Terrance Clark, who finished with a game-high 36 points and consistently drew contact in the paint, converting 14 of 15 free throw attempts. Daveon Henry provided a strong scoring presence off the bench with 21 points, and Hinds shot 84 percent from the free throw line as a team, which was critical down the stretch.

MGCCC held a rebounding edge and knocked down eight three-pointers, but Hinds capitalized on turnovers and executed at the free throw line in the final minutes. With the score tight late, Hinds made key plays on both ends of the floor to secure the three-point victory.

Hinds will conclude 2025 with a win and will return to action on January 6 against Baton Rouge CC in Baton Rouge, LA. Tip-off is set for 6 PM.
