RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Track & Field teams had some outstanding performances at the UAB Green and Gold Invite on Saturday.
On the women's side, Seanna Gaye-Leslie had a season best performance in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.66, which was .02 seconds from the first-place finisher's time. In the 400 Meters,
Queen Usunobun and
Twyshanna Huie ran a season best of 56.11 and 56.23 respectively.
La'Nica Locker ran a season best in the 60 Meters clocking a time of 7.56, which was a fourth-place finish.
Trinity Montgomery also ran the 60 Meters and finished with a time of 7.68. Locker also clocked a send place finish in the 200 Meters with a time of 23.96.
Ritorion Vigne also competed in the event and crossed the finish line at the 25.85 mark. The 4x400 Meter relay team made up of
Twyshanna Huie,
Queen Usunobun,
T'Kyla Bennett, and
Caydence Brewer had an excellent performance earning the first-place finish with a time of 3:46.82.
On the men's side,
Tavon Davis clocked a 1
st place finish in the 600 Meters with a time of 1:19.37.
Matthew Sullivan also had a 1
st place finish in the 60m Hurdles, crossing the finish line at 7.99 seconds.
Raheem Pinnock crossed the finish line first for the Eagles in the 60 Meters with a time of 6.69.
Antoine Spillman also competed in the event and clocked a time of 6.83. Additionally, Spillman ran the 200 Meters and finished with a time of 21.62.
Craig Carson also ran the 200 Meters and clocked a time of 21.85. The Men's 4x400m Relay team made up of
Anthony Collins,
Jayval Wright,
Tavon Davis, and
Craig Carson earned a 1
st place finish with a time of 3:14.04. In the High Jump, Avery Adams earned a 7
th place finish with a mark of 1.96m (6'5").

Reginald Dillon stated, "There are some things we need to clean up and switch some people around into some other events for our next competition that will be the Samford invite on February 15 in Birmingham, Alabama. We had sone big wins from
Raheem Pinnock,
Matthew Sullivan, and
Tavon Davis set the tone, and it's great to see so many season-best performances across the board. The 4x400m sweeps for both men's and women's teams are a great momentum boost heading into the Samford Invite."
Hinds will return to action on Saturday February 15
th when they travel to Birmingham, AL for the Samford Invite at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
