SUMMIT, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team grabbed a key conference victory defeating Southwest Mississippi CC  84-80 on Monday evening. 

 Hinds and Southwest exchanged buckets and possessions for the majority of the first half as the score was at a deadlock at 38-38 at the halftime break. After multiple lead changes in the second half, the Bulldogs had the slight advantage and took the lead and held on to it for the rest of the contest to grab the 84-80 victory over the Bears.

Jakobe Singleton led the Bulldogs with 27 points and shot 12-for-17 from the floor. Additionally, he was perfect from the charity stripe in 37 minutes of gameplay. Austin Ratliff recorded a season-high of 21 points in the win over SMCC. He also grabbed eight rebounds and was perfect from long range. Issac Ratliff had a great performance with 15 points and 11 rebounds for his 10^th double-double on the year. 

Hinds will return to action on Thursday, February 20^th against the Copiah-Lincoln CC Wolves. Tip-off is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM. We will also be honoring the 1975 basketball squad prior to tipoff.
