BATON ROUGE, La. – The Hinds Community College Track & Field program had a strong showing at the LSU Twilight, highlighted by multiple top finishes across various events.
On the women's side, La'Nika Locker competed in the 60m and clocked a time of 7.57, which was a second-place finish.
Trinity Montgomery and Ritorian Vigue also competed in the 60m and finished in 5
th and 7
threspectively. Seanna Gaye-Leslie was the only Eagle to compete in the 60m Hurdles and posted a time of 8.57, good enough for a second-place finish.
Caydence Brewer earned the top spot in the 400 Meters with a time of 56.57. She was followed by
Twyshanna Huie (2
nd, 56.81), T'kyla Bennett (3
rd, 58.36),
Queen Usunobun (4
th, 59.12),
Lania McDonald (7
th, 1:00.54),
Shaniyah Walker (8
th, 1:01.37), and
Mahria Miller (12
th, 1:03.05).
On the men's side,
Jayval Wright qualified the Prelims and earned a spot in the 60m, clocking a time of 6.74 for the second-place finish.
Matthew Sullivan competed in the 60m Hurdles and had a time of 8.29.
Shadane Smith posted a top time in the 400 Meters, while
Tavon Davis earned a first-place finish in the 800 Meters. Avery Abram warned a mark of 6.76m, which was a 6
th place finish. The 4x400m Relay team made up of
Anthony Collins,
Craig Carson,
Tavon Davis, and
Antoine Spillman posted a first-place finish with a time of 3:20.00 against some tough competition.
The Hinds Track & Field team will now turn their attention to March 7
th when they compete in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in Lubbock, Texas.
