Ryder Molea Hits Walk-off 2-Run Homerun in the 9th, Eagles Beat Bears 12-10

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Baseball team picked up a big non-conference victory on Friday by defeating Baton Rouge CC 12-10 in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the ninth inning. 

After a scoreless first inning of play, the Bears grabbed four runs in the top of the second inning to take the advantage. The visitors tacked on two more runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the 6-0 lead. The Eagles cut the lead in half in the bottom of the frame when Brody Breithaupt and Graham Busbea hit back-to-back RBIs for the Eagles.

The Bears extended their lead in the top of the fifth inning, but the Eagles stormed back and put up a six spot to tie the contest up at 9-9. Baton Rouge regained the lead in the sixth to make the score 10-9. 

After a scoreless seventh inning, the Eagles scratched across a run to level the contest at 10. Hinds defense held strong in the top of the ninth inning with a 3up 3 down inning to gives the Eagles a chance in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off. TK Clowers led things off with a single to left field to get a runner on base. With two outs, Ryder Molea drilled a line drive homerun over the left field wall to walk it off for Hinds in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Eagles claim the 12-10 victory over BRCC Bears in their first and only meeting this season.

Ryder Molea finished the game with a couple of hits and 3 RBI, while Dawson Muenzenmay had a trio of hits in the win. Cade Fairley, Reed McCrillis, Takorre Clowers, and Brody Breithaupt all had multi0hit games in the victory over the Bears.

Kylan Landers started out on the bump for the Eagles and went 3.2 innings before Calvin Robinson came in relief. Ford McDaniels then came in and pitched 3.2 innings and only gave up one run over the course of his outing. Braden Richardson came in the final inning and earned the win on the bound for Hinds. 

The Eagles will return to the diamond on Tuesday when they host Jones College in a doubleheader at Joe G. Moss Field. First pitch of the doubleheader is set to begin at 3:00 PM.
