Dot Murphy To Be Inducted Into NJCAA Hall of Fame

Raymond, Miss - Hinds Community College proudly announces that Dot Murphy, former Assistant Athletic Director and pioneering coach, has been inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class.

Murphy's remarkable career at Hinds spanned over three decades, during which she broke new ground by becoming the first female football coach in NJCAA history when she joined the coaching staff in 1984. Her tenure at Hinds was marked by dedication, leadership, and a commitment to excellence that left an indelible mark on the institution.

Beyond her coaching accomplishments, Murphy's influence extended to her role as Assistant Athletic Director, where she played a pivotal part in shaping the college's athletic programs. Her contributions have been widely recognized, including her induction into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Hinds Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.
