Raymond, MS Hinds Community College celebrated two standout performances this week, as men's basketball student‑athlete Daveon Henry and track & field sprinter Jayval Wright earned major postseason honors following remarkable showings in competition.

Henry Shines in Region 23 Tournament

Sophomore guard Daveon Henry, of Yazoo City, delivered in every moment the Bulldogs needed him most during the Region 23 Tournament. With Hinds' season on the line, Henry opened postseason play with a strong 19‑point performance against Holmes. He followed that effort with one of the most dominant outings of his career, exploding for a season‑high 43 points to lead Hinds to an overtime victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast in Perkinston.

Henry's consistency, leadership, and ability to take over games when it mattered most propelled the Bulldogs through the tournament and earned him well‑deserved recognition as one of the region's top performers of the week.
