Hinds Baseball Powers Past Coahoma in Doubleheader Sweep

CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The Hinds Community College Baseball team completed a dominant doubleheader sweep over Coahoma Community College on March 15, winning game one 9-5 before rolling to a 12-1 victory in game two.

Game one featured plenty of offense from the Eagles as Hinds collected 12 hits in the win. Cade Fairley led the way with a 2-for-4 performance and two runs scored, while Brody Breithaupt drove in three runs and finished 2-for-5 at the plate. Kylan Landers added two hits and two RBI, and RJ Brown also delivered two hits and two RBI. Ethan Keen provided a big swing with a triple and a home run, while Ryder Molea drove in a run and Lane Almond added an RBI. Hinds also stayed aggressive on the bases with stolen bases from Keen, Fairley, Landers, Brown, and Rolen Fanning.

On the mound, Tyler West earned the win after throwing eight strong innings. West allowed five runs on five hits while striking out seven. Charles Chisolm closed the game in the ninth inning to secure the victory.

Hinds carried that momentum into game two and turned in an even more dominant performance, defeating the Tigers 12-1 in seven innings. The Eagles piled up 16 hits in the game while Peyton Beck delivered a complete-game performance on the mound.

Ethan Keen once again sparked the offense with a two-run home run and finished with two hits. Ryder Molea had a strong game at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Lane Almond also had a big night with two hits and two RBI, while Cade Fairley added two hits. Kylan Landers, RJ Brown, and Ben Kennedy each drove in runs, and AJ Seiter added an RBI as part of the balanced offensive effort.

Beck was outstanding on the mound, tossing all seven innings while allowing just one run on five hits. He struck out 10 batters and issued three walks to earn the win.

Hinds will return to action on Wednesday, March 18th for a MACCC doubleheader at Co-Lin. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM.
