TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Hinds Community College Track & Field team turned in another impressive showing this past weekend at the Crimson Tide Invitational, continuing to build momentum with strong performances across multiple event groups.
On the men's side, Raheem Pinnock led the way with a first-place finish in the 100 meters, clocking a 10.30 to highlight a dominant day for the Hinds sprint group. The success continued in the 200 meters, where Curtis Coleman III placed second with a time of 20.59, while Pinnock followed closely behind in fourth at 20.61.
The 400-meter group also delivered a strong performance, with Deshaun Gordon finishing third in 46.55. In the hurdles, Matthew Sullivan earned a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02, while Shadane Smith added a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 51.38.
On the women's side, Queen Usunobun paced the 400-meter group with a fourth-place finish in 53.44, while Angel Cumberbatch and Madison Rhodes added solid performances in the same event. The sprint group competed well in the 200 meters, gaining valuable experience against a competitive field.
Mikenzey Hodges-Woods led the way in the hurdles, placing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.96 while also competing in the 100-meter hurdles.
The highlight of the meet for the women came in the 4x400-meter relay, as the Hinds squad placed second with a time of 3:39.58, showcasing the team's depth and competitiveness.
Hinds will return to action at Louisiana Tech on Friday, April 17th in Ruston.
