COLLEGE: Chosen to the 2016 NJCAA Top Incoming Freshmen list. Named to Phi Theta Kappa, the national two-year honor society, for his work in the classroom. Played 2016 For Sam Temple at Hinds Community College.  Signed a NLI to play at Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Stacy Hester at Brandon High School… Four-year letterman for the Bulldogs, where he was a teammate of current Hinds teammates Colton Cox and Hunter Wilson… Finished his illustrious high school career with a .420 batting average, 69 RBIs, 113 Runs, 27 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, and had 120 hits… As a senior in 2015, he was chosen as an All-State first team selection by the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC), the All-State second team by The Clarion-Ledger and an All-District selection as the Team MVP… Selected as the MaxPreps Player of the Year for BHS, was an All-Southeast Region selection by Perfect Game and was named as the South MVP of the D.M. Howie Crossroads Diamond Club All-Star Game… As a junior in 2014, he was named to the Perfect Game All-American Honorable Mention team, All-Metro and All-District first teams and was chosen as the BHS Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP… Selected to Team Mississippi in 2014 and competed in the Junior Sunbelt Classic in McAlester, Okla., joining fellow Hinds teammates Colin Coates, Will Craft, Acy Owen, Cartez Posey and Hunter Wilson… All-District first team selection and Bulldog Award winner in 2013… Winner of the Presidents, Leadership and Citizenship Awards

PERSONAL: Graduate of Brandon HS in 2015… Resides in Brandon… Father, John Mitchell, played baseball at Mississippi State was chosen by the Atlanta Braves in the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft… Son of Lynn and John Mitchell… Business major
