Jarvis Cole enters his first season with the Hinds Community College football program in 2019. Cole will serve as the linebackers coach.

Cole comes to Hinds from Meridian High School after serving five seasons as the linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator. Previously, Cole served one season as quality control at Alcorn State University, his collegiate alma mater.

At Meridian, Cole helped lead his defense to two Mississippi South State Championship games and coached more than 20 student-athletes who played Division I football. Those include including Raekwon Davis, at the University of Alabama, Quincy Lenten, at the University of Florida, Zaire Jones, at Vanderbilt University, Julius Turner, at Rutgers University, and Santrell Latham, at the University of Southern Mississippi.

He began his coaching career at East Central Community College, where he served as the running backs coach for two seasons, in 2011-12.

The DeKalb native played his prep ball at Kemper County High School. Upon graduation, Cole moved on to East Mississippi Community College where he earned an associate degree.

Cole then transferred to the University of West Alabama for one season before moving on to Alcorn State University where earned a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance.

He lives in Raymond and is engaged to Jazmine Sanders.
