Matt Lott

Matt Lott joined the Eagle coaching staff in summer 2021 as the offensive line coach.
 
Lott comes to Hinds from Navarro College in TX. During his first year with the Bulldogs, the offense led the NJCAA with 309 passing yards, ranked second in first downs per game (24.4) and fifth in total yards per game (462). This Bulldog offense also produced two All-Americans, including the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) offensive player of the year, Dodge Delozier.
 
Prior to Navarro, Coach Lott was at Coahoma Community College for 4 years. The first three years as offensive line coach, and the last year as offensive coordinator. Lott coached seven all-conference offensive lineman while at Coahoma, and his offense finished 12th in the NJCAA in passing.
 
Before Coahoma, Coach Lott spent seven years as offensive line coach at Independence Community College in KS in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC). During his last four years, Lott had offensive coordinator duties. During his time at Independence, the offense broke several school records including rushing yards per game (425) and passing yards per game (454). In his first year as Offensive Coordinator, the pirates improved scoring by 91%, total yards by 35% and passing touchdowns by 300%. Independence also had multiple years of finishing in the top ten in rushing offense. Lott also helped Independence to its best record since 1998.
 
In total, Coach Lott’s offensive lines have blocked for 12 running backs that transferred to FBS level schools. He has also coached 40+ players to all-conference selections.
 
Coach Lott played in the MACJC at Pearl River Community College. He was a starter for two state championship teams with a combined record of 22-1. In 2004, he was a member of the national championship team and was named a 1st Team All-American and Academic All-American. He then transferred to Baylor University where he lettered for two years. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
 
Matt and his wife Kaci have three daughters, Poppi Grace, Willow Rae and Sunny Marie.
