Courtney Carson

Courtney Carson enters her third season as the Assistant Coach for the Lady Eagles softball program in 2019.

Coach Carson played under Coach Grzanich during the 2009-2011 seasons. She served as team co-captain during the 2010-2011 season. While playing at Hinds, Carson received awards such as All-American Scholar Athlete, Who’s Who among American Colleges and Universities, best two-way player, and most valuable player.

Carson graduated from Hinds in May of 2011 with her Associates Degree and signed with Oklahoma Wesleyan University to further her education and softball career.

While at Oklahoma Wesleyan, Carson served as team co-captain during the 2012-2013 season. Carson led the OKWU Lady Eagles in the circle and at the plate to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history. She received honors such as MCAC Academic All-American, MCAC 2nd Team All-Conference, and MCAC 2nd team Pitcher of the Year.

Carson graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2013 with a Bachelors in Business.

After graduation Carson signed on to be the Athletic Liaison at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She served in this position for 2 years before being called back home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Carson served as a recruiter for Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge for a year when Coach Grzanich asked her to return to Hinds to assist with the pitching staff and recruiting.

Carson is currently pursuing a masters degree at The University of Southern Mississippi.
